Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Briefly app, website, and related services (the “Service”), operated by Briefly Collective Pty Ltd.

By using Briefly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.


1. About Briefly

Briefly provides personalised, short-form audio content generated programmatically based on user-selected interests, topics, and prompts.

The Service is informational and educational in nature. It is not a professional advisory service.


2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) to use Briefly.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Submit content that is abusive, harmful, or illegal
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse-engineer or misuse the Service or its systems

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.


4. Content and disclaimers

4.1 Informational content only

Content provided through Briefly is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice (including medical, legal, or financial advice).

You should not rely on Briefly as a substitute for professional consultation.

4.2 Accuracy and limitations

While we aim to provide high-quality content, we do not guarantee that content is accurate, complete, or current. AI-assisted content may contain errors or omissions.


5. Intellectual property

  • The Service, including software, branding, and generated audio (excluding your inputs), is owned by or licensed to Briefly Collective Pty Ltd.
  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use.
  • You retain ownership of the prompts and inputs you provide, but grant us a licence to use them to operate and improve the Service.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and payments

6.1 Subscription model

Briefly operates on a paid subscription basis. Subscription details and pricing are shown at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.

6.2 Apple App Store subscriptions

If you subscribe via the Apple App Store:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, subject to Apple’s policies and local consumer laws

6.3 Web subscriptions (if available)

If you subscribe via the web, payments may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider. Their terms and policies apply in addition to these Terms.


7. Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time via the platform you used to subscribe.
  • Cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund unused time, unless required by law.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

8. Service availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.


9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Briefly Collective Pty Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months prior to the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.


10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Briefly Collective Pty Ltd from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms.


11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.


12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
